Find Your Ideal Makeup Artist in 3 steps!

June 7, 2010

Dear Bride-to-be ,

If you’re deciding between a few bridal salons, I would suggest that the best thing to do is to first make a free bridal consultation appointment with each one. When you’re there, go through their portfolios to get an idea of the kind of bridal makeup they do. Ask as many questions or concerns that you may have regarding your own wedding makeup.

Make your final decision based on:
1. Your budget
2. Favorite bridal portfolio
3. Level of comfort with the makeup artist

Best of Luck,

~ S.

not every salon in Pakistan offers bridal consultations … usually you get to meet the artist on the day. And at the end of the day, the budget is the foremost thing too considering some make-up artists even demand return tickets and stay at 5-star if they need to travel (woah – for ’em ;))

My suggestion is to keep your eyes open as bride. Well not during the time eye make up is getting done but make sure that the artist knows she cant paint you like she wants … tell her what you want. If you have got any particular eye shades or lip colors in your mind … discuss with her then … oh and yes the amount of base she puts on you too :) Even better take a snapshot with you of some such bride to give her an idea.

Wow … if I was flying in my make-up artist and putting them up in a 5-star hotel, I would want a guarantee that I look no less than Angelina Jolie on the day of my wedding!! But then again thats just me :)

Thanks for the great comments asma and sovina! I agree, you have to keep your eyes open and know what you want.

Your words inspire me... so comment away! :)
